Grant Programs
National Network Start-up Grants
Designed for YG representatives in countries without an active nuclear Young Generation Network, this grant supports the creation or reactivation of a dormant YGN. The proposal should include a short market research report and a business plan, with downloadable guidelines available.
The project should plan to partner with established YG networks from other countries to provide mentoring, ensuring access to best practices and lessons learned. A minimum of 80% of the grant should be spent in the country of network creation, with up to 20% allocated to the partnering network.
Support from the National Nuclear Society or other nuclear organizations, along with recommendations from prominent figures in the national nuclear industry, is required. Contributions from other sources are encouraged, enhancing the project’s chances of receiving an IYNC grant.
National Project Grants
Proposed by a national Young Generation network, this project should significantly contribute to achieving IYNC goals at the national level. Encouragement is given to include collaboration with a Young Generation network from another country for knowledge transfer. At least 80% of the grant should be spent in the implementing country, with up to 20% allocated to the partnering network.
Support from the national Nuclear Society, other nuclear organizations, or prominent figures in the national nuclear industry is desirable. Contributions from other sources are encouraged, and the IYNC grant will match contributions, capped at $5,000.
A financial report, due within 2 weeks after the event, is a condition for the grant, with receipts possibly requested. The grants committee strongly recommends submitting a brief article for the IYNC bulletin or newsletter after the event to share the initiative
Regional Project Grants
IYNC supports regional events between congresses with grants up to $5,000 each (all figures in US Dollars):
– Europe
– North America
– South America
– Asia
– Africa
IYNC sponsors these regional events by placing its logo, and the event is advertised as organized in cooperation with IYNC. If feasible, the President or an IYNC network officer speaks during the event.
A financial report is a grant condition, due within 2 weeks after the event, with receipts possibly requested. The grants committee strongly encourages submitting a brief article for the IYNC bulletin or newsletter post-event to share the initiative.
International Project Grants
This project, proposed by three or more national YG networks, should significantly contribute to achieving IYNC goals at the international level. Desirable support includes backing from national Nuclear Societies, nuclear organizations, or prominent figures in the national nuclear industry.
Encouraging contributions from other sources, an International Project proposal must secure support from IYNC, with the grant matching external contributions but not exceeding $7,500.
Grant conditions include providing a financial report within 2 weeks after the event, with the possibility of receipts being requested. The grants committee strongly recommends submitting a brief article for the IYNC bulletin or newsletter post-event to share the initiative.
Travel Grants
IYNC is committed to facilitating participation in its events, such as the biennial conference, by providing financial assistance through Travel Grants.
These grants are aimed at supporting individuals who may face financial constraints but are keen to contribute and engage in the enriching experiences offered by IYNC-specific gatherings.
The availability of these grants is contingent upon the current funding status, and specific calls for applications are initiated accordingly. By extending Travel Grants, IYNC endeavors to ensure inclusivity, diverse representation, and broad participation in its key events, fostering a collaborative and global community dedicated to the future of the nuclear industry.
