What is IYNC2026 and what is its main purpose?
IYNC2026 is the International Youth Nuclear Congress 2026, a global forum for young professionals and students in the nuclear field. Its main purpose is to connect the next generation of nuclear experts, promote knowledge exchange, and support innovation in nuclear science and technology.
When and where will IYNC2026 take place?
IYNC2026 will take place from 4 to 9 October 2026 in Avignon, France, at the historic Palais des Papes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The theme of IYNC2026 is “The Chain of Change”, focusing on how innovation, collaboration, and the next generation can drive the future of the nuclear sector.

How can I register for IYNC2026?

Is there a registration deadline?
Yes. The early bird deadline is 3 July with a special discounted rate and the general registration deadline is mid September. Please note that registration for the technical tours planned for 6 and 9 October will only be possible until 15 August due to verification requirements from the hosting sites.
What are the registration fees and what do they include?
Registration fees depend on category. They include access to the event, workshops and panel sessions, lunch buffet, technical tours on 6 or 9 October, IYNC Games, welcome reception, and mentoring activities. Extra options like the gala dinner, Paris weekend or additional technical tours on Friday 2 October cost extra. More information is available here: IYNC2026 Registration
If I can no longer attend the conference, can I get a refund?
No. According to the General Terms and Conditions, refunds are not possible. However, you may transfer your registration to someone who meets the same pricing criteria as your registration. In this case, you must notify the IYNC organisers via this email address registrations-iync2026@iync.org, and provide the new participant’s information.
How can I get involved not as a participant?
We will call for additional volunteers over the coming months. Stay tuned on the next opportunities by following IYNC publications. Currently, we offer opportunities for photographers and videographers to get involved in the conference (more details here). If you are selected, we’ll grant you a free weekly pass for the conference.
I am a PhD student. Can I register under the student full‑week category?
Yes – you will have to provide evidence.
Is it possible to register only for the technical tours on Friday, 9 October?
No, these options are only offered with the full‑week pass.
I registered, but I haven’t paid yet and I can’t find the payment page anymore. What should I do?
The team will send you an email with a link to complete your payment. If you do not receive an email within 2 weeks, please feel free to contact the team (registrations-iync2026@iync.org) to get the link and complete your registration.
Do not try to register again to complete the payment, as it is not possible to register using the same email address. Contact the team, who will provide you with the payment link.

Can I present my paper online or only in person?
Presentations are expected to be delivered in person at the conference venue. Remote presentation options are not planned.
Travel & Accommodation
Do I need a visa to attend IYNC2026?
Yes, depending on your nationality, you may need a visa to enter France. Participants are responsible for checking visa requirements and applying in advance if needed. More information is available here: Practical information
Will invitation letters be provided for visa applications?
Yes, invitation letters will be provided by the registration team upon request, provided that this is indicated in the registration form and the required information is submitted at that stage.
Are there recommended hotels or accommodation options?

Is there any support for travel grants or funding?
Yes, a limited number of travel grants are available for selected participants. You can apply for the IYNC Travel Grant before 10 July here: IYNC Travel Grant. Additional funding opportunities may also be available through organizations such as the IAEA, the ENSYGN, or local YGN organizations, with more information to be published soon.

Networking & Social Events
Will there be networking events or social programs?
Yes, the conference includes networking events and a full social program designed to connect participants, including receptions and dedicated activities throughout the week. In addition, a social program will also take place in Paris on 10–11 October, following the conference. Please note that the weekend program in Paris is optional and available at an additional cost. Travel from Avignon to Paris and accommodation are not included and must be organized by the participant. More information is available here.
Is there an official conference dinner or gala night?
Yes, an official gala dinner is planned as part of the conference social program on Thursday 8 October. It may be included in your registration package as an extra option. Seats are limited, so early booking is recommended.
